Bass Guitar Buzz

Playing through a Focusrite 212 USB connection. The bass comes out 50% bass and 50 percent buzz. I have a Dell laptop. I admit I am new to this. The only instrument I have tried so far is the Bass. Also, I am not using monitors yet. So, wondering. 1) the Focusrite DAW, 2) the Dell laptop USB, or 3) the speaker/soundboard that might be causing the problem.

Actual bass ? Soft synth bass ? How about another sound.. piano ?

Latency buffer set too low ? Signal too high ?

Yep, real bass. I plugged in a guitar and same thing. I'm thinking speakers, since it all sounds like crap until I export to Audio, then then buzz goes away. Going to try and pick up some PC Monitors. Thinking that will help? Anyone think the real problem is the sound board?

Small speaker may not be able to handle a full bass sound..

Your Focusrite should be fine. Get a pair of monitor if possible, but depends on your budget also. If not, you can get a pair of studio headphones too.
