X2

so, don't know if this has been shared, but as 8.5PE owner got 'special' offer from CW CEO this week to upgrade to X2 for £75. so i have. agaist my better judgement, but time waits for no man.
i guess this means: a) x2b/ x3 is round the corner.
b) i'm going to be (more) lost for the next few months
c) 8k posts make fanboi

    That's awesome.

IIRC, I paid $99 for X1, another $99 for X1E. I don't have either installed on my computer cause I use 8.5.3, and Cakewalk still wants me to pay another $99 for X2.

But you get the whole kit and kaboodle for $114.

Plus all that nifty free content.

I think I'm going to continue not buying upgrades so I can can get a discount like this some day.

It's a great offer, no mistake.  Not if you went through all the great out of the box experiences with upgrades since 8.5 though.  I think the offer was conducted quietly privately via email rather than via the website for this reason.

I thought about it and remembered some of the half-implemented stuff like the take-management, lanes and comping options which are all a step in the right direction but unfortunately haven't made the complete walk to the required destination yet.

£79 at one time would have meant snapping someones arm off to get it yet I still find myself able to decline without feeling like I'm missing out somewhere.

I hope they do manage to generate some clearly needed sales through this offer though.

There was a time when many people were trying to say important things to them which largely went unheard or ignored, when it could have made a real difference by now.  I can't help thinking you'll be able to get X2 even cheaper before long by finding a still shrink wrapped, unopened copy in your local charity shop that ended up there from being an unwanted gift.

Got the same offer via the United States Postal Service on a piece of white paper... 99 smackeroos.
