Save separate files using markers

Product is SONAR X1 Studio version X1c build 319. I have a long track (two hours) which is just a single stereo track which was transferred from tape. The track has markers identifying the start and end points for each song. Is there some way to automatically save each song as a separate audio file, based on the markers? Otherwise it is necessary to go through Export -> Audio -> etc. etc. etc. for each song. I am looking for a means to automate this process. A search of the forum has only yielded similar questions, but no solution that I could find. Thanks for any suggestions. Kirk

    Turn on auto versioning in preferences...I believe this will accomplish what you are after...It will save up to as many versons as you set each time you save and close out a project.

    OOOOps! Sorry...I totally read what you were after...I think you are going to have to split the audio and export each song...I'm sure someone here may have a quicker or easier way, as I have never had to do this.... sorry! good luck...

    I just added a feature request as detailed below.  I encourage you to do the same for whatever might meet your needs (and even if they are identical, it would probably help to have more requests):

    ------

    I would like to see different categories of markers that provide different behaviour within Sonar:

    -> BEGINNING / END of song
        So that when you playback or export an audio file, it will do so within these boundaries

    -> SPLIT PROJECT markers
        Adding one or more of these enables the option to split a single large project into many multiple projects.  The name of each project could also be determined by the name given to these markers

    I believe there are freeware components out there that allow splitting audio files into multiple songs by time.  I seem to remember running into them a while back while looking for something else.

    I will hunt around for a couple of them for you to try.  These run completely outside of Sonar - I think you would want to note the various time points (from your markers?) where you want the splits to occur, and then use the utility software to do the splits using those time points.

    I hope I wasn't dreaming all of that - I will post back as soon as I finish watching a basketball game on TV.

    Here are a few - note I only searched for functionality, pricing is something you will need to balance against a given program doing what you want.

    My Google search terms were simply: wav splitter time

    I hope one of these will fit the bill for you.

    There are a bunch of other ones too - so review the above, and maybe fire up a Google search as I did, and hopefully you can find one that meets your needs.
