A little time in the middle og a composition

Hi to all,

I would like to have a short break - gap - time - in the middle in my composition. The difficulty I have is that then I try to insert time measure, it adds a measure that effects my synth that is looping inside vst depending on a structure in sonar.
So is possible, if so - how, to add gap-time measure-or so that wouldn't effect vst and all composition in respect to all arrangement - beats counting?
I am using sonar x2.

Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to the forum!
Whatever time you add, a measure or a quarter note, will obviously and inevitably add to the length of the song and move everything forward respectively. How could it be any other way?? Adding "ghost-time" is not possible.
The only option is to silence a part of the song, which of course, is another thing.

I don't know the details in this case, but maybe bouncing the soft synth to audio could do the trick? Then you could split the audio clip where you want, and after the pause it would continue where it ended.

Have you tried inserting a Tempo Change Marker where you want the space to start and another at the end? That should tell the VST that is running a loop that there is a Tempo Change and to act accordingly - I think.

You may also have to modify the loop that is running to have a period of notes off.
