Help: I can't burn a compatible CD

After making several CDs...mixing all afternoon, SOnar suddenly will not burn a CD from my project. It will export a file which can be played on my computer. I exported correctly (sample/bit). BUt, I get: Unknown Error: 0x080040210.

Windows Media player will play the file, and will burn a CD. However, the CD will not play anywhere, including Windows Media player. Properties on the file indicated bit rate of 1411kps.

Normally, I export my project and burn it using either Nero or Windows Media player.

Just make sure the exported wave file is 16 bit, 44100 sample rate. The default 32 bit depth will no play on most regular CD player (but you can play on Windows Media player).

Yes...as I stated....I exported correctly both sample and bit. Do you have any ideas?

"Unknown Error: 0x080040210" - I suppose Cake support would have some clue..

Mean while, you can try to use Audacity to read the wave file (if possible), and to re-export it again to 16 bit wave (via Audacity) and see if you can burn this.

Was the file you created a WAV file or an MP3?

If WAV, then it MUST be 16 bit AND 44.1KHz to work on a standard CD. You have to burn the file to the CD, not copy it.
If MP3, then you need to create a data disk. MP3s are not audio files and not all home CD players will play MP3 disks.

I assume you rebooted your computer and tried a different blank disk.

If a process is working fine for a period of time (you said you had successfully burned a number of CDs before it stopped working), something in the system string as gotten screwed up... I'd try a hard reboot.

    Best,

Try using your googly machine to look up your error code and see what comes up.

Maybe a system restore will fix it.
