New Song, Contemplation
Trying to contemplate what to do next is always an issue in life, especially when it comes to putting a piece of music together. This is how I came up with this piece, by contemplating what to do next. It is a bit long 5:28 minutes, but hopefully you will find it enjoyable. I have my work cut out for me on creating a video for this one, for sure. All comments always welcomed. Hope you enjoy, http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12230019 Peace be with you all always. Blessings, John

John, Nice clean intro. Some really interesting ideas going on here. Really interesting change over around 0:30, love that guitar cut in around 1:00 and piano break around 1:30 ... I think you need to add a bridge in here somewhere or perhaps a key modulation or change up to minor mode or perhaps a change in tempo to keep the listener interested at this point, your harping on the same chord changes and the change of instrumentation isn't getting you there anymore.... I understand that you are exploring your possibilities ... So I suggest you take a second idea and explore it the same way and then find a way to bridge the two different ideas together. I think you've got plenty of interesting ideas happening in this tune and would love to hear how this turns out. The music flows fine but even as a backdrop for a video it still has to carry the listener there.

Tap, Thanks for the comments and the ideas. You do have to remember I do music for videos and until I have a video the music is set in stone until I can incorporate it into the video where I don't know what adjustments or additions will be incorporated and set to the video. I do however like your thoughts, comments and remarks and they are much appreciated. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

GUITAR! :-) I like the piano too. (in the beginning) But it felt a bit like switching the radio station around to different songs? I think it would be better with a single theme that builds and breaks. It did cycle through the various themes but they were so disparate it didn't feel like a song, but like several songs. I hope this is not confusing. The recording is very nice.

The Band 19 The piece is for a video and therefore several various exposures need to be in the piece to go along with actions and drama that will be incorporated. Let's just say, for the most part my music is a preview of what will be in a video, once the video is made. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

Really cool chunks here! I will have to agree with The Band- there were ideas within that I loved, but to me, it doesn't feel like a 'song', more of a compilation.

davdub101, Well, after going to listen to your music and checking out 3 tunes, I can see why you may feel and think the way you do. We are in two different worlds of music and sound production. Not that that's a bad thing. Yes, you are exactly right, a music compilation, but for a video, as mentioned above in responses to others. So, basically it is not a song, but music to be used throughout a video, that will require various adjustments, and additions to bring it full circle. Glad you enjoyed for the most part. Thanks for listening. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

John, Well done, like the music very much. From a mix perspective there are a few cymbal crashes and cymbal swells that are a bit too loud but otherwise, really nice job. Regards

markno999, Thanks for the listen and the comments. Yes, there are a couple of cymbal crashes and hits and swells that could use a tweak or two, but I will save all the tweaking for when the music is incorporated into a video. There is a good possibility that long sections of this will have volume down control work applied while other part may even go up. You never know until you have the video or even a game to work with. Thanks again and glad you enjoyed the piece. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

really cool piece, very original, which is hard to be in these times we live in. the over dubbed cymbal crashes are a little over bearing for me and the drums are a little thin. the guitar work is really amazing though, your picking harmonics are awesome. really enjoyed this, thanks for the listen.
