Yesterday

Just thought I would share this...

I was going through my catalog of music (huge 40 GB - I have the 24 album Beatles collection in MP3 format) and listening to Beatles songs (now that I have REDD) and was listening to "Yesterday"  I always listen to the background "sound", whiich I call the "canvas".

I had NEVER noticed it before, but right before (EDIT -during) the first "I believe in Yesterday" line
there is a "door squeak"

I had to listen to it several times again...because my Mic is always on, and thought it might be someone here at home..

but every time I listened to it...it was there again (most noticeable in the Left Speaker)

You have to listen REAL close...but it's there...they must not have been able (no computers at that time-LOL) to edit
it out...even though THOSE guys, working with TAPE, were GENIUSES....

Just thought I'd share that useless tidbit of information...

    Hi,

If you ever hear the Beatles Christmas shows they use sound effects a lot more than we have seen. And according to Geoff Emmerick, even more so that we have not noticed!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Yeah, I've got both of their Christmas shows.  You can clearly hear John fart on one (and blame it on Paul).

Are you listening to the 'Remastered' collection? I have the Stereo Remaster collection released in 2009. Tried to hear it and am not. Could be the headphones aren't picking it up, or possibly they remastered it out.

I was singing/tracking/rehearsing etc. a few minutes ago and I heard my knee pop in the head phones. I almost started laughing thinking about this thread.

Nope...it's the original....and I have 3 different copies of the original - it's on all of them..

    Red Box 1962-66 CD1
    The Beatles 1
    Help

They may have "taken it out" in the Remastered version - but I don't have the Remasters so I can't say...

it's very faint....almost directly between "I believe" and "in yesterday"

    Very interesting site...

It lists it as a "Squeak, possibly from a Violin string"...could be...but sounds more like a "door or chair" squeak...

Apparently there are others as well....listed there..

I assume that "HUGE" 40 GB was only of the Beatles stuff, ya?
