Acoustic cover - Goodbye
Here's a cover of a Paul McCartney acoustic number he wrote in 1969 for Mary Hopkin.... This is a '64 Gibson J45, a late '50's Martin acoustic strung in Nashville tuning and my friend Mimi on vocals through the Mojave MA-300 tube mic and a tube pre. We rearranged it and changed the key from C to E. Our first pass at it.... talk about going from a complicated cover (I Am The Walrus), to a simple one! phew! Let me know if you hear anything heinous that I missed! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12252779

That's an interesting choice for a cover Dave, I vaguely remember the song. Nicely done cover, the guitars are excellent and the vocals are pitched well, a little reminiscent of George Harrison actually.

A very nice song! Very nostalgic in composition and expert in execution.

Beautiful cover of one of the more obscure tunes from McCartney's collection of songs. Your love of the Fab Four is a bright spot for many of us.

James, Starise & Lynn.... thank you for the listen! and feedback! James, it is an interesting choice, for sure... we heard this little known acoustic piece by Paul and just loved the simplistic beauty of it. Lynn, as I think I've mentioned before.... 40 - 50 yrs later, we're still learning from these guys. They wrote and performed so many innovative and wonderful songs.

I never heard this tune. I was thinking it was a Lennon song but I'm not surprised it's McCartney's. Well done! I'm listening to Paul's now. Wow! You really did this justice.

Guitarpima, thanks for the listen and feedback! A lot of very knowledgeable musicians have missed this one too! We had to change the key to sing it in our comfort range. I think the Nashville strung & tuned guitar is a nice touch also. I'm thinking about adding some light percussion yet.
