See? That's exactly what's wrong with school today. Those are very good and creative answers (can you really say that any are actually incorrect?). Unless it's a class for psychics, why would he need to only pick the answer the teacher wants to hear? Students that are completely brainwashed to believe there's only one answer to a question are NOT prepared for real life IMO! My favorite example comes from this question: What is the square root of 4?

Those are great answers. And #1 is a bogus question. Napoleon didn't die in battle.

craigb: 2 and -2... But, the bigger question is: how do we know the root is square? Have you ever seen a plant with square roots?

My favorite example comes from this question: What is the square root of 4? You all may laugh at this, but, there's much truth here. (Undernieth that clown suit, craig, therein hides a true genius). There is also much debate on how to fix our broken education system. On the world scene, US ranks in the middle to near bottom of the list. From an insider's view I believe it is no longer fixable. The makeover would be to devastating economically and socially to implement. We're doomed to fail. Doomsday prophets can say what they will about how the world will end. Our own education system will bring us down before any asteroid hits us. . we can save education just get rid of the nutty professors and teach real history, math etc. that's all..

Mooch4056 Blehhhhh!!!!! I had been in America 5 days and the high school English BS teacher, gave me an F because I could not write a paper on Charles Dickens ... Well, he ended up with an F in his face, and students laughing at him, because I swore 200 words in portuguese when he told me to leave the room ... and I had all the kids after the class ask me what I said, and I taught them every single word ... that they used ... for a long time, too! Ohhh ... the following week, they got me a different English teacher and she was much nicer ... and helped, instead of being an idiot!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Mosh, I'd have been completely sunk at that school. Not only would I not be able to write a paper on Dickens, I can't swear in Portuguese either.

My teachers thought I wrote in Portuguese. My handwriting is really horrible. I've had doctors admire my signature.
