I am thinking of making a dramatic exit...

Like, reaching 4999 posts. And then leave, just this close to Plat...

And you guys would remember me and think -

Do you remember that tall guy w/ the amazing red headed wife who used to hang in the back of the CH and be all grateful and batsh!t positive all the time?

And the others would go:

"Yeah, but he didn't quite have the moobs to be the next Bapu, did he?"

Or "He renounced Becan way too early to even hope walking into Beagle..."

Or even "He though CJ was ok, he got along great w/ John and even enjoyed a John T post here and there - what's up with that?!!!!"

Or: "Oh yeah, the guy that bragged about Macs and Logic all the time... Good thing he's gone because I'd install X1 up his butt"

But this would mean I have to use those few last posts very carefully.

Nah, I think I'll make it to 5000. And maybe 1 more...

Nevertheless, since my own life parallels the one of my childhood Hero, frighteningly so, I've recently decided to go on a diet and back on training. No way I'm dying in the bathroom alone at 42, fat and gooey and all, especially not after I've found so many reasons to sing "Viva Las Vegas"...

I've found so many reasons to sing "Viva Las Vegas"...

Rather than making an exit at 4999, I think you could make a great entrance with this theme and to put icing on the cake, dress up as Elvis (for your avatar) and post it after reaching 5000!!!

Thank ya, thank ya ver much. (Don't leave the building) Seriously, I worry that this place is going to change from a fun and good place into a dead and boring place. Heck, I know I am just a klingon but everyone needs an orbit. Hey, don't forget to hydrate... Vegas may look like any other city but it is still just a flashy oasis in one heck of a desert. I bet it wouldn't take very long, in the summer to lose weight just by taking walks outside.

Excellent advice Julien about staying hydrated (in Vegas)!!! I remember drinking about 2x more water in Vegas than I do now in FL. In the summer, it can get upto 115-120 degrees (mid day) and most "normal" people avoid exercising outside due to heat strokes, dehydration etc....even after the sun goes down, it's about 95 degrees.

Due to the dry heat and very low humidity, I noticed that I didn't sweat a lot when I lived there.......of course here in FL, I just have to walk to the mailbox and come back all sweaty/sticky.

Nah, you can't leave, it would be bad for you.

You need idiots like me to give you a friendly ribbing / hard time now and then or your life would just be too perfect and then you'd have to go into self-destruct mode and ruin it all just for something to do.

We'll keep you grounded and also make you feel talented on the days you doubt yourself - we all have them. Sometimes all it takes is the thought that.........well I might be an untalented hack, but on the plus side, at least I'm not that guy...... to make the world right again. ;)

I've been known to finish songs "unresolved."  Sometimes to leave the listener happily in the clouds, but sometimes just to be mean (F# is rarely a good place to end, ya?  ).

I did it "accidentally" by having the trumpet player and sax player play an open fifth between them.  I had to go back and add some piano to fill in the 3rd...

there are a few songs out which don't resolve and they drive me nuts...

our former pastor used to tell a story about a man and his rebellious son.  the rebellious son would go out drinking every single night and come home at 3 am or later and when he came home, he'd go directly to the piano and play 11 notes of a scale and then go to bed.  every night.

every night the man would HAVE to get up and go hit that last note on the scale because he couldn't go back to sleep with the unresolved scale in his head!

Mesh and Julien: I've always drank lots of liquid - my mom was actually worried that it was diabetes or something when I was a kid. Anyway, I've noticed that the place where we just moved seems even drier. I drink even more than I used to and I have the humidifier running 24/7. The house seems to stay pretty cool though the temperatures are rising these days. And the room where we set the gym is probably the coolest of them all.

Actually, I'm guessing that the studio is the hottest room in the house - because it's relatively small, the door is always closed (to remain cat-free) and it's located above the garage.

There were 2 days where my wife thought it was a bit cold in the house and turned on the heat. And it took a while for the temperature to go back down in my studio.

Bt I guess we'll adjust. And honestly, I'm pretty happy that we had to turn on the heat. At the old condo, I had had the AC rolling for weeks if not a month already. I can't say that it gets hot in here, besides those few days when the heat was on.
