Cakewalk Pro Audo 9 wanted.

If anyone has an old copy of Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 that they want to sell, then please send me a PM. I would prefer it repacked in its original box with CD, User's Guide, serial number and anything else that came with it originally. I have check on eBay, Amazon and other places for the last month with no result yet. I have noticed there was a Pro Audio 9 Deluxe released also. What was the difference please? Regards, Sylvester

you probably haven't been able to find it for good reason, its illegal to re-sale a copy of cakewalk pro audio (I want to say all cakewalk software is like that)
    meaning the license is non-transferable.

you might have better luck moving up to Music creator instead.(kind of like a newer version of pro audio 9).
you wont have a difficult time switching from cakewalk pro audio 9 to music creator.

it's very close to and along the lines of pro audio, I know I used pro audio years ago.
great daw to learn on as well wasn't it ?  :)

Pro Audio Deluxe came with additional content like midi and audio files, tutorials and such. IIRC, they called it the Musician Toolbox.

I don't think anyone could legally sell it, as Charles mentioned.

There is one product out there which always reminds me of Pro Audio, called Metro, by Sagan. In fact, Cakewalk was the official distributor of that product back in the Pro Audio 8-9 days, and it was known as Cakewalk Metro. Back then it was Mac only, but the developer since ported it to PC.

it does look a lot like pro audio 8 and 9.
the transport module shows very similar  looks. with those silver buttons and green alph on black backround.

Yep - I go way back every time I see it.

It's now back in the hands of its creator, Jeremy Sagan (son of the late great Carl Sagan). Apparently, it does things in its unique way and features some very interesting tools. There were a series of videos on KVR not that long ago.

I can't help but wonder how it would had evolved if Cakewalk had kept it.

Thanks guys for pointing me to Music Creator 6 and Metro.  I have had a good look at all the overviews and screenshots on the websites and they both look impressive.

Unfortunately, I'm back using an old computer at the moment while I rebuild my main one - motherboard burnt out some time ago.  The minimum system requirements for Music Creator is 2.66 GHz dual core processor and 2 GB RAM.  The old computer is under that and won't cut it.  Also, MC6 does not support XP 64 bit Professional.  I run this on my main machine and I'll not upgrade in the foreseeable future.  I'll have to pass on Music Creator.

Good. Hopefully you'll find something that works for you on the machine you have. :)

    Pro Audio 9
    Pro Audio 9 Deluxe
Pro Suite (came with Pro Audio 9)

These are all listed on Amazon still but are listed as unavailable.  Probable have been for many years.  I remember seeing stacks of them on eBay about 4 or 5 years ago and were a dime a dozen.  I'm kicking myself now for not buying it then.

Yup - If I remember correctly, among other things, Suite added Audio FX1, 2 and 3 if I'm not mistaken. All of which were later bundled w/ Sonar and/or made available for free on their web site.

That brings back so many memories...

I bought the Pro Suite at the time they were clearing it out for Sonar.
Unfortunately I had problems with Giga Piano using Win XP for some reason.
    But since I have two workstations ( a Kurzweil 2600xs and a Roland XP80)
    I really don't use a soft synth.

I haven't been here for a couple of months.  Just having a look to see if there are any new posts about this subject.  I notice they have updated the forum software and the whole site looks completely different.  I also noticed my images of Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 are now missing in post #8.  Have they deleted them by accident when upgrading?

Addendum:  Sorry, my fault.  I thought these images were embedded and I removed them from my site some time ago.  Now corrected.  Funny, Firefox does not show placeholders.  I just noticed the error using Chrome.
