Dim Pro, Rapture installation still buggy despite user feedback

so i have spent about 4 hours tonight using Google to finally get Rapture and Dim Pro properly installed on my PC. i got the recent offer upgrade from 8.5PE to X2. I like X2, but getting these two synths registered was a nightmare. i used instructions from about 3 different threads from 6 months ago to do some reg hacks, some uninstalls, some reinstalls etc. several fruitless attempts inbetween.

it is disgraceful that known issues from 6-12 months ago have not been addressed in either the downloadable executable files, the documentation or any patch issued in your download area. I'm something of a CW vet now, after 6 years, so i kinda knew what to expect, but most people won't bother and will vote with their feet.

As i say, I do like the look and sound of X2 compared to 8.5, after a few days of playing around. tonight i had planned to have a nice few hours recording, which now never happened. am now about to apply the x2a patch (again), fingers crossed that doesn't screw something else...

mgh, you don't want to hear this, but there must be something happening at your end to give you so much trouble.

I installed X2 yesterday evening and Dim PRo and Rapture this morning and everything went smoothly.

    Are you on Windows 7 or 8 ? 32 bit, 64 bit ? X2 32 or 64 ?

If you provide your system specs people here can certainly help you out.

You have to run Dim Pro and Rapture as administrator (not just be administrator) for the Cakewalk registration to go through immediately.

Are things running well now ?

it was a well known bug when upgrading from 8.5PE. as I had an older version of both Dim Pro and Rapture. it meant that neither could install before I changed the serial number  for both in the registry. I found a big thread from last year on it.
my point is, they made a special offer for us 8.5 users to upgrade, knowing that exactly this thing would happen, but didnt so much as include a readme file in the d/l.
    i'm on win 7 x64 btw.

Glad things are working now. Yes, they certainly could have made a mention of this in the readme file that is already there listing other stuff.

They could also remove the Dimension Pro samples that crash Sonar.
