Effects Go Dead In X2a?

Once in a while, while working on a project in X2a, the effects go dead all of a sudden. I hear a totally dry mix. Is this a known bug?
I would close the program but it won't re-open. After re-booting, whether I saved the project file or not, the effects come back as normal. Not a serious bug but definitely an annoyance.

push the letter "E" to disable/able all effects globally. should be a quick fix next time.
