Yup, that's what I've always said. The supposedly unimportant unimplemented feature of today is always the highlight of the next update.
I use Logic - it doesn't support 32-bit FP audio files. And if you ask me, it makes NO effin difference. But I'm sure that the inclusion of it will be a selling point for the next version.
As for PT, from the perspective of a mix engineer/producer, I understand why 64-bit is/was relatively unimportant.
From the perspective of someone doing everything ITB and relying on virtual instruments for most things and such, it's a great news. But then again, I'm not fully sure why those people would even pick up PT to begin w/, considering that it's not where PT really shines.
I mean, if I have to use PT that way, there are other things which will bug me way before I even think about the advantages of 64 bits.
But then again, I guess that there are lots of grey areas and what works for one person would be a nightmare for another.
What puzzles me is the new AAE audio engine. I'm hoping that they've improved in that area. IMHO, it could hardly be worst than the old DAE. I rarely use PT these days, but this would be a selling factor if I were to upgrade.
