I had some difficulties in understanding some details, but I think that review is very clearly written.

An old joke of mine came to mind:
What's the easiest way to destroy a german book?
Tear off the last two pages, that's where all the verbs are :o)

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

It seems to be yet another essay that suggests that old time users who were smart enough to understand what a turkey the X - light design is, were somehow "confused" by the new features.

When you begin with a false premise it's pretty easy to miss a lot of details... but it seems that 2-1/2 years later a lot more people have learned to be confused by the X design. A circumstance that the author describes as

"there have been some changes that are still not perfect or have proven, in practice, for most users to be suboptimal."

I think I am going to see how confusing Studio One 2.5, Pro Tools 11, and Cubase 7 are before I try the latest SONAR stuff again. I still enjoy SONAR 8.5.3 Classic Edition, it can be confusing but it never made me feel dumb just for buying it the way SONAR X did.

    best regards,
    mike

No wonder I can not understand these DAW's ... it's another flippin' language that is not translating into clear words!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
