Focusrite 2i2 and Sonar X2a

Guys, I'm on Windows 8 using Sonar X2a and I'm configuring a brand new focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio I/O device.  I've 86'ed the native sound card so everything audio in or out is happening through the 2i2.  Tracks sound amazing when i'm putting them in my Beats Studio monitor, the wave file looks nice and fat, everything is a go ... until I go back to listen to my track and I can barely hear it and what I can hear is very muted and fuzzy.  Any ideas?

By the way the console meter on the track and the master is showing great values, up to the top, a little red.

    Welcome to the forum!

Sonars track meters don't define the recording level, the Scarlett does.
How are you setting the levels? You should set track meters to 0 dB and adjust the level in Scarletts input.
Is the "fat waveform" you see the preview, or do you see a fat waveform on the track also after the recording?
How is the track output set? All tracks should be routed to Master Bus, and Master Bus to Scarlett/Main Out.

What are you recording? Do you monitor with "Input echo" on?

"Tracks sound amazing when I put them on my Beats Studio monitor"...do you mean during recording??(Well, obviously, if the playback is low and fuzzy :o/)

Post #2: Are those levels during recording or during playback? (Ok, I see you are routing to Master).

    Welcome to the forum.
What Driver Mode are you using?
Did you go to the Focusrite web site and download/install the latest drivers for the Scarlett for your operating suystem?

KR - I'm leaving the track DB on 0 and setting the scarlett gain so that the "console meter" in sonar clips red occasionally.  Sounds great in my ears when i'm recording. The fat waveform is after I record, I'm looking at what typically is a very strong wave. (I've been a casual cakewalk user for around 10 years but brand new to Sonar)  I put in a vocal track everything is hunky dory, the bass track that i'm struggling with is through a Line 6 HD 500.  I think I have the routing right, the bass track matches the vocal track that's working in the console view under sends both tracks say master, master sez scarlett 2i2.

Gregy, I have been to the scarlett website and DL'ed the latest.

OK I seem to be good.  I switched the "channel" on the 2i2 to the same channel I used for the mic.  same settings, much better result, who knows but I only do one track at a time so i'm good thanks guys for helping out!!!!!!   Back to the pesky day job.
