A little help and advice

Hi,

I am seriously thinking about installing WIN 8 on my main DAW PC... I am concerned that all might not be well with WIN 8 and want the ability to simply switch back to WIN 7 if necessary.  I understand that some type of backup might be required of the DAW as it is now (the boot drive at least).

I am not sure what the best way to accomplish the request might be.  Any help or advice that my fellow Sonar users?  Yes, I have a large touch screen and want to lose the mouse for mixing.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Jim, if you don't want to lose your WIN 7 options, you may want to consider setting up your DAW with a double boot.... Basically, you create a partition in your hard drive and install win 8 in your second partition.  On boot up, the system will ask you to chose, and so you can use your DAW in win-8 mode.... However, that also means you may need to make your plugins and v-instruments available on your second Sonar installation.  Also, make sure you have access to win-8 drivers for your hardware.
