I'm not surprised by your results!

As long as the "recorded" sound is not going back out the speakers you are fine.

    Thanks Tom...

So with Arc switched on the bass levels in my room seem a lot quieter...

So... when I bounce mixes do I leave Arc on or off?

right - leave the pad off and don't allow the recorded sound to go back out of the speakers.

yes, the bass will be a LOT lower when ARC is on, that allows you to mix it louder without the interference of your room's reflections and standing waves.

but when you finish mixing, turn it OFF before bouncing or exporting!

thanks!!   luckily i did switch the pad off..  Will follow your advice on bounce.

can I assume I need to use

    "full range bass correction".

it is interesting that two speakers are different - got a glass patio door one side behind a curtain on the left. The other side is a slightly sound insulated wall.
