Trance Track- Emergence
Howdy folks! :o] I've been working on an EP for a little over a year now, and I've been getting some good feedback here. I thought I'd share with you the second mix (no vocals, yet!) of what will likely be the last track to make it onto the record. Just wanted to get some thoughts; I'd love to start submitting demos to a few labels if y'all think the quality is there. Thanks! :o] -Vince https://soundcloud.com/shepherdsofsaturn/emergence

Oops, thanks for the heads up. The link you posted is not the correct track. I've corrected the URL in my original post.

Very well done. I don't know the laws of trance and I don't dance these days (it costs too much to get me drunk enough on the good stuff), but I found it interesting and less ... trying than most trance. No overwhelming emphasis on drums w/o skipping a beat. And I love the main bass sound - again more interesting than the usual trance fare. In the last section, it might be interesting to hear the lead sound echo in the quiet parts rather than dissappear. Kinda jarring the way it is, which may be your intent and/or the style these days. Sound quality is good enough on these computer speakers, but I don't know what "trance" lables are looking for tho. Love to hear the vocals that go w/ it. Sweet. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Well, the link didn't work for me either, but wookies did, but his link was the wrong one, so know I'm confused. Have to hear the whole piece to comment, but as to what I did hear sounds like your quality will be fine, now you have to master composition. Keep at it. Would like to hear the finished piece. Peace and blessings, John

but Wookiee's did, but his link was the wrong one, Well there is a a surprise Wookiee got it wrong, nothing new there I am apparently the master of wrong. Interesting that though the links appear to go to the same soundcloud person the track for review is not on the main page. Well what would a walking alien carpet know anyway.

I love this kind of music! Have you taken it out live yet? From what little I know about this, *all* the artists started by mixing live in the dance clubs. If people like dancing to their music, they start with small releases.
For all I know you've already been through this, but at the very least you want to get feedback from the crowds before finalizing your ideas on this track. Really like the moment at 4:28--I'd like for the other changes to have this level of impact as well.
On my system I heard big bass and subs, and sizzling cymbals--is this a really scooped EQ? That's good for parts, but I'd like to hear more mids in parts. There's some musical interest in the melodies and chords that's not getting its fair share, I think.

Hmmm, the link is not live. I had to cut and paste. As always with this style of music I try to picture being on a dance floor (fat chance)) because I can relate to it more than just watching the screen. I'm not a big fan of this as "just listening" music but I have to say that you mixed it up really nicely and kept me in the moment. mix sounds great to me. Unfortunately there is rarely a tune like this that can keep me listening for almost 7 minutes. i understand the rationale for long songs in a club so..... Anyway, good luck with your CD project. You are very talented!

Must admit that "Trance" is'nt one of my fave genre's of electronica, but i really did enjoy this track. There are some really nice melodic parts in this that i absolutely loved and i found out that this could be good listening music as well as dance. The mix and production sound excellent on my speakers I wish you luck with it.

When this is finished, it should be a big hit. It pulses in beat, and what more could you ask for?
