If Only

http://soundcloud.com/aaudiomystiks/if-only
Another new track, the 2nd in two weeks.  This one is called If Only and is an attempt to marry electronica and Beatles 60's style pop.

Enjoy, Ben

Marry what???!!!!  Ha.  Totally interesting, buddy.  I can hear your concept in the music.  I never know what to think when you post something.  You are different and that's great.  OK, I really like this one, Ben!

As always, unpredictable, yet entertaining.  The effect on the voice is cool, as is your sparse arrangement.  The background instruments add the kind of color and texture that one might have heard from Abbey Road in the late 60's.  Way to keep it going, Ben!

    All the best,

Hey guys thanks, it sounds like mission accomplished.  I was def aiming for a Beatle production, going so far as recording the vocal half a speed faster in Reaper.  Giving the vocal a slighty thicker slower feeling, I also added some leslie rotery speaker too.  I must admit I am not as happy with the vocal performance as I could be.  I had to do it really fast, as I live in an apartment now and I didn't want to piss the neighbours off.

    Cheers Ben

Yea Ben, I think you nailed it - abbey road electronica.  Nice job.  And good song.

I agree it could use a more emphatic vocal.  Now that you know how to get it to sound that way, get it right.  But I still like it.

Yes Leslie on the vocals plus a slowed down tape effect and a pitch shifting delay, yes I'm trying to hide a weakish vocal!

Was truly an electronica magical mystery tour. How would have thought of marrying the Beatles to Electronica, but you did and that shows independence and great thinking. Not bad at all. The mix was right on and a nice arrangement. Good production. Enjoyed this.

    Peace and blessings, John
