Remix- King And Queen Of Paradise

A remix of something older.  It was written as part of a story that I was setting to music.  The obvious reference to marital bliss has no bearing in my actual life!  Any thoughts on the mix or composition would be appreciated.

The song is good though I am sad that you don't have the marital bliss you write about.  The mix is good but there is something bothering me.  Unfortunately I don't have the skills to say "take this up, widen this, etc".  The closest I can say is that it seems like too much high end?  I don't know, buddy, it is a good song and mixing isn't my forte so I'm sure others will give better tips to you.  Hasta,

Like Warren said, this is a good song that's just a touch away from being stellar.  I think the overall volume level is generally lower than most songs I hear at this site, so it's possible that a slight increase in the compression or limiting stage of the mastering process could help without squashing the overall level.  This is good enough to play with until you are happy.

    All the best,

Thanks guys.  I think that it is almost there.  Pending a few more comments here, here is what I am hearing:

    - more frequency carving needed between the bass, lead vox and electric guitars.  The middle sounds squashed with stuff and isn't breathing easily.
    - the lead vox on the 3rd verse gets lost.  Some fader riding needed.
    - not sure about the high end but will compare with some reference tracks to see.
    - the violin sample sucks.  It was an old sample from way back when.  Need to replace it with a better sample which I have.  Very nasal right now.

    That's it.  Anything else?

Nice song, but does need attention as listed above. You will work it and then we can listen again. I like the story also. Just give her a tweak here and there and I think you may be there.

This is a good composition and i enjoyed your vocals.

    Loved the arrangement.

The mix does have issues though and need to be attended to to realise this track's full potential.

There are others who can offer you better technical advice than i can though as it's not a genre of music i make myself.

Will be nice to hear this when all the mixing issues are sorted.

Nice tune. Comments: I like your vocals, I would suggest keeping them a bit dryer like on the chorus's.  Also, the vibrato'd whisps are a little pronounced in the beginning and are modulating the signal a bit when they happen, perhaps the result of a compressor try to track at this point. They seem better balanced towards the end, I would just bring the level  down a touch and I think it might really help the clarity.  I thought the overall sound level seemed fine and didn't actually notice the violin sample as being much of an issue. It's different, but I think it works ... adds a little darkness???
