Noob Help with audio snap!

Hey guys, I'm a guitarist in a technical death metal band. We just went to record drums for a few songs in a home studio, and got highballed on the editing price, so we decided to edit it on our own. I've got a bit of cakewalk experience, but I'm by no means an expert. I was told by my engineer, who gave me the tracks, that I'd have to look into track mapping and audio snapping. I've kinda got an idea of how it works, and played with it, but unfortunately we didn't record with a click (that won't happen again). So the drums are all over the place. It's real tough to work on. Does anyone have any good techniques on how to fix the beat so it's not so messy? The drums are real fast and hard to keep up with. Maybe that's just my issue.

    Welcome to the forum!

    So, do you own SONAR? Is it a version with Audio Snap?
    I've never needed AS, but I assume the manual gets you started, and help is surely available here on the forum if you can't get it working.

    SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

      Yeah I probably should have mentioned that I own Sonar X1 and it does have Audio Snap

    Hi Bill-

    There are indeed some great post on how to use Audio Snap to clean up drums. As Mike states though, it will likely be a long tedious process. There have been ca couple posts recently, but I have just searched and can't find them. They are here though.
