Weird issue of GR5 in X2

This is so odd that I had to post it, and still cannot find out "why." I got a new acoustic guitar and recorded a track, then added GR5 (Guitar Rig 5)on it as an effect (done this before many times, and with an acoustic is almost needed to prevent feedback). When enabled, GR5 mutes the track (no output, and no meteres moving on GR5 either)! GR4 works fine... GR5 works fine in stand-alone mode... and previous projects with GR5 in it are also fine! I deleted the GR5 effect, rescanned VSTs, inserted GR5 again... and still no sound with GR5 "on." Checked all settings I could think of, and still nothing. The only thing I could think of is I had switched X2 to WDM mode, so switched that back (it was in WDM when recorded)... the stand-alone of GR5 is ASIO. Deleted/readded GR5 after this, and still nothing. Any ideas on why this is happening? Is almost like a setting of GR5 is not working correctly, like it is getting "no input."

Set up a new project and try again and post back with results.

I do not know the effect that the prior recording being done in WDM had, but if you are now ASIO it should be moot.

when you say gr5 mutes the track do you mean the M mute button lights up??
in gr5's meters at the top of the plugin are the l and r buttons on (orange)?
does gr5 work if you insert it on a bus and send the acoustic track to it??

Hi all, I made a new project and simply let the track echo with the guitar. I ran GR5 as an effect real time, and was fine. I also copied/pasted the audio track from yesterday into this new project and this also was fine in the new project (extremely weird)! There is a number to the right of the echo button (not sure what this is), and in the glitchy project, this read "-135" initially. I *assume* this is dB (which means NO signal), but somehow got it to reset with messing with effects on/off, but still cannot get GR5 to work on that original track (but copying to a new project made it work). The track *is* there... all other effects work. Not the best gain, but is definitely there. I am chasing a phantom here, I guess, but it bothers me. Basically with GR5 "on" as an effect in the first project, the gain of that track (as seen by GR5) goes to nothing. GR5's input meter does not even register a signal with the lowest gate setting. Even recording in WDM mode, that track exisits... and inserting GR5 afterwards as an effect should not be dependent on "how" it was recorded. Nice plug-in bug nonetheless.
