Yes, I'm a stuck record, but I will ask for this feature yet again..
I mix big projects. By that I mean, BIG projects, very often live concert albums with 45 - 60 minutes of continuous music across 20 to 40 tracks. Studio albums run up to 60+ tracks, though not all songs in one project, obviously.
I use Slate VCC, gates, Verbs, Delays, Autotune, Prochannel, plenty of side-chains and I run it all at 48k/24bit (64 internal).
My i7 2600/8GB DDR3 PC will not handle the final mix at 6x oversampling (Slate VCC) without freezing at least half of those tracks.
When SonarPlus still worked, it was easy: Bulk Freeze and go have some tea (or a lot of tea). Now, that was a simple program, that a third party guy created. He now works for Cakewalk. WHY can CW not simply add this feature to the program? Freezing one 45 minute track takes a LOOOONG time, no matter how fast your PC is. Now do that 40 times.
So there you have to sit. And sit.
The other advantage of Bulk freeze is that you can easily render your tracks for backups - because, let's face it, a year from now those plugins are not going to open properly. It certainly worries me, surely others worry about that too? If you have frozen that tracks, at least your mix will have a better chance f surviving the times.
Am I really the only guy who would like to see this feature in X...?
In fact, I'll PAY if someone writes me a script to do this. Anyone?
Think about it.
