Selecting tracks in X2a

I recently had to do a multiple radio/tv spot production project at my music studio.  As you may or may not know I use 8.5 at my broadcast production studio but X2a at the music room.  After assembling multiple spots on separate tracks in 8.5 I have a little system of using ctrl click to choose each new set of tracks (i.e. spots) to be exported by deselecting solo and then selecting mute, deselecting the track and then reversing the process on the next new track to select and solo it for export all while holding down the ctrl key.  In 8.5 it works great.  In x2a it doesn't work at all.  It keeps selecting other (multiple) tracks and either soloing or muting them.  I have to quite literally jump through hoops to get more than two tracks all selected and soloed.  Does it work differently in X2a??   I'm sure it's something I'm not doing right.  Or is it??

Are you selecting the number of the tracks? If you click on the the first track number it should turn blue if then while still holding down the left mouse button you drag down over each number it should select all those tracks. If also wish to solo them hit the control key and click the solo button on one of the select tracks and they should all be soloed.

All those selected tracks should be fully hi-lighted.

The above is for selecting continuous tracks if you want to select non continuous tracks hold the control key while clicking on the number of each non continuous tracks.

Yup...all my selections for the most part are for non-contiguous tracks.  It works fine in 8.5 and always has...but it never works on my X2a system.

Sorry to hear that olpal - the method John describes works perfectly here for me, whether they are contiguous tracks or not.
