Using 3/4 outs on Quad Capture?
Has anyone here had problems using the 3/4 outputs for the Quad Capture to a mixer? I have checked all connections/levels and only get really low volume. For those using the 3/4 outputs to a mixer, can I get a link for the best cables to use? The cables I am using seem a little loose but they should work. Thanks
SONAR X3C PE , Windows Pro 8.1 64 BIT I7 2600k, Gigabyte Z68MA MB, 8 gigs Ram Corsair SSD 240, WD ,HD 150GB VelociRaptor, Roland Quad capture, Mackie 824 M2 Yamaha S90 keyboard, Omnisphere, Trillian, kontakt 5., Zebra HZ Diva, Addictive keys.

How are you sending your tracks to the Main Outs 3/4 inside Sonar? It could be your cables, but it could also be 100 other things inside sonar or your quad captures Q mix. Just get Balanced Cables to rule out your cables. Monster is fine. some don't like to use monster because of some weird politics they dont agree with, but they are good cables and guaranteed for life. Cj

But hold on, I thought that outputs 3/4 are via SPDIF??? You won't hear anything analog out of those.

COAXIAL IN (3/4)/OUT (3/4) jacks The COAXIAL IN (3/4) jack inputs the digital audio signal. The COAXIAL OUT (3/4) jack outputs the digital audio signals.

Dave you are correct in theory, But I've been using a ( good quality) RCA audio cable for 25 years now with my 01V. Of course with any cables always use good quality. They are just standard Beldon instrument cable with standard stainless RCA jacks. My cables where bought to use professionally with my Cassette and CD players. The consumer grade cables will work but they are not a good idea. Anyhow we need to find out how in heck the OP actually heard anything analog out of those ports. If he did then that's very weird. There's almost the same thread in the Hardware forum right now.

Related question: I'd like to use the SPDIF outputs of my Quad Capture to connect to the input of my VRM box, and use that as a 2nd headphone output. I can't quite get the routing setup right. I'd like for it to duplicate the main output. How do I do that?

Unless there is a special cable that converts digital to audio for your headphones, then you need to buy a headphone amp to get more than one headphone connected. SPDIF is Digital, not analog. So you cannot do it with the SPDIF, unless you get some sort of DAC (digital audio converter). CJ
