odd stuck midi note behavior

I opened an old Sonar 2.0 project with my brand new Sonar X2 Studio and got all my audio and midi tracks matched up with the proper outputs.  I'm having an odd issue with a midi organ track that starts halfway through the song.  If I start the song from anywhere before the organ midi part, the part plays fine and kicks in right when it should.

The problem is once the organ part kicks in, it's like the organ player no longer knows when to come in.  If I rewind the song to the beginning or start from a part where the organ isn't playing, I hear a constant organ chord.  The behavior clears in a few minutes.

Could this be John Lord telling me from the grave how badly I suck?

Check your Event List for any Midi events on that track where they shouldn't be

I also upgraded from Sonar 2 (to X1) but I'm too scared to keep using the old Sonar 2 projects in the X series (because, as you know, there's been dramatic change to the software since that version). I copy all clips and paste them to a project template I created and use in X2. Just my two cents.
