Timeline problems

I have Sonar X2 Studio and have been creating a track using some audio groove clips and some soft synths. I do a lot of step recording and over the last two days I have noticed that after I've been working the for a while the timeline begins jumping by irregular steps rather than travelling in a smooth direction across the screen. It could be a Sonar problem because I loaded a different project and experienced the same problem. When I reboot my computer the problem is solved but it would be nice if there was a more immediate. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this anomaly and what was done to remedy it.
Thankyopu for taking the time to read this, and the font change in the middle, no idea why, and any feedback would be much appreciated.

Maybe you are hitting the pause key http://www.cakewalk.com/D...rmance.21.html#1150952

Many thanks Scook, that sounds quite possible since I'm still finding my way round Sonar and maybe pressing the wrong button without realising it, if it happens again I'll investigate the pause scenario.
