Changing my Name in Sonar
When I print sheet music from Sonar, it puts my name on the music; however, it does not put the name I want. It apparently puts whatever Sweetwater decided to set up for me (without asking). Any idea how I can change this without corrupting a bunch of existing files? Thanks!

If I were guessing it is picking up the name from the registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X1\User Name" I have never changed the value though.

That sounds right Scook. Recall when we install Sonar it asks for our name.

Yes, "User Name" is in every version of SONAR in the registry. I based my reply on the OP .sig

Works for me, Keni. I click Project > Info and then set the values that I want to print out on my sheet music?

Thanks for the confirmations... I did finally get the link working and found the info... Helpful... Now to see if that changes the default info that finds it's way to the mp3 export dialogue? I use/need that far more than I do manuscript these days... ;-) Thanks Everyone... Keni

Good stuff, guys. I may try the Project > Info thing first so I don't hose something by making a global change. And back to our favorite subject of notation although I use an external program for serious notation, I print the staff view often to give the singer a quick lead sheet. All of my original music has a track with a generic sound (like a Rhodes) playing the melody (and harmonies) so we have the lyrics and music on the screen and the parts playing for the purpose of showing the singer how the parts go. In addition to just teaching the song, you would be amazed how much having this melody line reduces timing and phrasing errors that would later have to be corrected (painfully) in Melodyne. Your mileage may vary but I have more issues with timing than with pitch with most singers--and pitch is easier to fix.

They can guess where the meoldy will start, where the intervals in a melody are and how big the intervals are....lot's of time consuming stuff.
