Sonar X2a - Moving clips - graphical errors
Hello to everyone. I have a strange problem in some projects created with Sonar X2a.... When I need to move an audio clip (maybe some bars before) I get some graphic errors.... It's hard to describe, it seems that a "corrupted" graphic of the clip is shown in the timeline, usually starting from left to right, preventing me to understand clearly where I am moving the clip. Did someone had a similar problem? Any solutions? Thanks a lot, Giorgio

I'm not certain this would qualify as the same issue, but I routinely have issues with drag/moving clips around that they will often plop down in the wrong place unless I go through a very definite and extra step process of moving them around. It's been a real issue with me since X1. In your case, it could be you need to Right-Click the clip, select "Associated Audio Files" and click "Redraw picture" or something like that. Does that help any?

I attach an image describing the problem: look at the left side of the tracks pane: I am moving a clip (see the mouse) and the graphics in the left side of the clip while I am moving it shows graphic problems. This issue is not related to my computer (since I verified on two different ones, same problem). If someone could help me I will appreciate very much. Thank you, Giorgio

If you're referring to artifacts that appear randomly, such as the dark line that appears in the track here about 12 beats to the left, this is something I've seen often as well. I have the latest drivers for my video card etc. and still see these when editing. Sometimes they're large sections of the screen. In my case, I can scroll the artifact off the screen, so it's out of view, then return to the same spot to see that it's gone. I used to have issues like this with Microsoft Word and Flight Simulator in the past, but not on the system I'm using now. I don't know what causes this, but I don't think it's harmful. I'd submit this picture in a Bug report to Cakewalk. Although it seems to take them ages to respond whether they'll look into it or not, if they can duplicate this issue, I'm sure they'd be interested in fixing it.

Yes, this bug is terrible. Constant. I don't understand how it hasn't yet been fixed.

I believe this to be a video-card issue, not a Sonar issue. It may be expensive to do, but try a totally different brand video card and see if that does anything different. I'm using the same video card, but I upgraded my Motherboard. After that upgrade, I no longer had these issues.
