I love STP and have heard this song many times.  You arranged this uniquely, but it works well for you.  The performances are very good for a somewhat difficult song.  My only observation is that the overall EQ is somewhat bright, lacking some low end refinement.  With a little warmth, this could be a gem of a cover song.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Dear Elix, thanks for your comment. What do you mean with the vocal part is "not cured"? I have not (auto-)pitched the voice, that is correct. I just let it as it was. It's rock'n'roll ;-) Dear John, thanks a lot! I am not sure which sound I am really after...I am quite new to DAW (but making music for decades), so I have no real goal when I start recording a new song. I just let it all happen, and when I like it, I finalize it! Dear Lynn, thank you, it is great to hear this from a STP fan. I will keep your EQ remark in mind with my next song. Greetings from one Wilson to another ;-) Thanks to you all for listening!

This is good.  Evidently it is a cover?  I've never heard it.  I like it and I think you did a nice job.

Good use of the soft synths! There may be some ears that could detect the difference between these and actual hardware synths, but not me, not in this context. Good balance, nice synth riffs, good job.

thanks warren, thanks snob! the soft synths are really something - i am an old school music maker, but these days, you can impress people who do not know how easy this is (like girls ;-) with soft synths...just a few mouse clicks...and music is here!

For a true 'freebie' (plenty of music, tiny effort), I showed off to students for awhile with Cakewalk Kinetic. http://www.soundonsound.c...4/articles/kinetic.htm It's literally seconds from zero to music chugging away (also a few more seconds from music chugging away to "this isn't actually very interesting", but never mind). Start clicking the clips and dragging the faders, and you've got an entire set. The students were unduly impressed.

Hey dude, Im going to be honest with you.....Hope you don't take this as an insult. Your mixing is not good. there is a lot of work to be done to this song, but im going to give a one thing to work on. your drums are tight enough.also your vocals are not a good mix. hope you dont get offended.

the song is GREAT!  I love this cover.  BUT the mastering is horrendous.  The wave form is one big block and it sounds like it.  Everything sounds really wimpy and is actually really tiring to listen to.  A shame such a great song ruined by a simple limiter.

a lot of soft synths actually sound better than plenty of hardware synths that are out there.
