Me and My Robot Arm

So on Saturday, I was wrapping up a good work day of writing and composition... Went into my room to chill.... and as soon as I got in the room, it came to me- "It's just me and my robot arm."

http://soundcloud.com/davdud101/me-and-my-robot-arm

I think it's done. How do you guys like it?

||  Tell me what you think so far!
||  I have some vocals re-rec'ing to do, not to mention a coupla instrumentation here and there, but I really let this one take life all on it's own accord.
||  How's it looking at the moment? (Especially mix-wise?)

it had my little boy giggling and dancing, this is a good sign ;-) loved especially the "love that you hang around" lyric! i generally like a little wackiness, and here it is. i am looking forward to the final version!

notnat, I'd ADORE to hear a cover of this! Go for it!
speedtom, I'm glad to hear of the reaction!

The new (perhaps final, although I have to fix some distortion) version is up right here (with comments in the first post):

Pretty spacey song for sure. Have to say it was creative and different. Vocal were right up front and the mix was good, but this would not be in my genre, so had to know what your looking for as far as advice. Sounds O.K. to me for what it is.

    Peace and blessings, John

This is one of the more original tunes that I've heard here in a while.  You may have created a whole new genre for this, and I like it a lot.  It left me wanting more, which is always a good sign.  I hope Frank covers this because he knows what he's doing.  Congrats on writing something different!

    All the best,

Thanks, both of you guys! I really didn't know the direction it would go in myself- my mind said acoustic at first, but I allowed it to develop how it would, and I guess this strange, simple, bassy and synthy tune is what came of it.

Any shots at naming the genre? I honestly haven't heard anything like it myself.

    (Hip-hop + pop-styled? vocals + electronic instrumentation..)

electric popcore'n'blues? it reminds a little of "because I got high" or outkasts "the whole world", cleverly made, with a some weirdness!

Really enjoyed this, perfect amount of woozy, and the vocals are just as they should be. I think I'll go listen again. How about woozystep as a genre.

Thanks to all- great genre names! I'll say, I don't even know what sort of influences are in this.
I don't know how I could possibly make/hear other songs in the vein because I can't point what what would make UP the sound of the genre, hehe!
Thanks for te feedback, though! I think it could use a little but of pulling back, added with a compressor on the vox to decrease the differences of volume. Thanks again, all!
