Why are you using ASIO4ALL when you have an audio interface?

I recommend you uninstall ASIO4ALL, then tell Sonar to use the M-Audio interface and the ASIO driver that goes with it.

I suggest also starting with a Sample Rate of 44.1 for both Sonar and the M-Audio interface, a recording bit-depth of 24, and an ASIO Buffer Size of 128.

Please give the above a try and post back with the results or any additional questions,

You may also need to make udjustments in your patchbay in you M-Audio's mixer software.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

remove the ASIO4ALL driver thing.... use the real ASIO driver for the interface.

Let it run the profiler and try it again. Roberts advice above is spot on.

+1 - Uninstall ASIO4ALL. Download the latest driver from m-audio.com.

If the meters show sound being received and you're not hearing anything, check the M-Audio Control Panel and the Windows mixer to make sure the audio is not turned down or muted in those tools.

Also, look for envelopes that may have the level in a track all the way down. They are hard to see if you are in clip view and are all the way on the bottom of the track.....

I have missed a few like that.

In clip view the envelopes are a color closer to the track color and are very hard to see.  on the tracks in question switch to the automation/envelope /volume  view and see if they are hiding.

Also check to see if the tracks are directed to a bus and check the mute & volume envelopes there as well.

Why are you using ASIO4ALL when you have an audio interface?
It's curious how so many owners of decent soundcards have been installing ASIO4ALL lately.  Someone somewhere must be giving out bad advice.
