I love it.
The hardware item is a run of the mill compressor that is advertised as being special.
It is described as
"The VSC-2 Quad Discrete Compressor is so named because it uses 4 VCAs built by hand using only discrete components." Vertigo says that:
"99% of all newer designs use an I-ntegrated C-ircuit for this job which makes production easy..."
Which is sort of true, especially f you are speaking about the 100% of compressors that actually use an I.C. chip and if you ignore the other 100% of the compressors that are actually all discrete class A.
BTW, when I say all discrete class A I actually mean 100% all discrete class A.
When Veritgo says "all discrete
VCA"; that is precisely what they mean.
The Vertigo Quad All Discrete Compressor is not all discrete... just the VCA part is.
The output on the Vertigo Quad All Discrete Compressor is a real life name brand monolithic Integrated circuit chip.
Maybe the dsp coders were clever and *upgraded* the output to a make believe Jensen Transformer so that the input matches the make believe name brand Jensen Transformer on the input.
I like how they make the hardware seem exclusive by suggesting it is in the 1% club. That is funny.
I also like how the software is made available as a very exclusive and special deal to *insiders*. That is even funnier.
I thought the price of $299 was especially hilarious.
For that kind of money it better work in ProChannel.
:-)

mike
