Now Slider

Trying to sort things out with new computer and X2. Anyone know why the "now slider" below the start/stop/record would not be functioning properly? When I click on the now slider to move it, the mouse arrow disappears and I can't slide to where I need to. I can click on the ends and make the song go back to beginning or directly to end but can't seem to control anything in the middle. Seems like I'm missing something, don't recall this problem in X1. Advice or suggestion?

As you say, the mouse arrow disappears when clicking on the slider, but dragging it (with the arrow being absent) can successfully move the Now Time back and forth here.

Thanks Jlien for your help. I tried what you suggested but when clicking the mouse on the slider the arrow dissapears until I unclick and then the arrow shows up away from the slider. Tried to drag but nothing. How can I be dragging the slider when I can't see where the mouse arrow is? Nothing happens, I'm probably missing something quite obvious, but that's the nature of trying to figure X2.

When I unclick, I still see the arrow at the same position. I wonder if anyone else is having the same issue you described. I never use this slider and instead always use Ctrl+Shift+PageUp/Down (move between markers) and Ctrl+PageUp/Down (move between bars), both on the right side of the keyboard. If fact, I don't use the left side of the Transport module at all and want Cakewalk to split it into two separate modules so I can display more modules.

dotonemanband, do you have a track in the track view ?

For me the Now Time cursor in the track view moves back and forth with the slider by a minimum of one measure. If I'm zoomed out quite a bit, it'll move maybe 10 measures at a time. It always stays visible in the track view which will scroll to keep it visible.

However, I don't see the Now Time cursor in the Piano Roll View, though I think I should. There have been several problems reported regarding this view. If I click once in the PRV I see a (very thin) line, but it disappears as soon as I do anything. It's visible while a track is playing then disappears again when it's stopped. It remains invisible if I use the slider to move it back and forth.

Could you give us a bit more detail as to where you are, like in which view ?

Thanks for your help Paul, Here's a link I've been looking at although it's not that easy to follow and still can't seem to fix my problem...  http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X2&Lang=EN&Req=Playback.02.html  You can also set the Now time by right-clicking in the Clips pane if you enable the Right Click Sets Now option in Track view Options > Click Behavior menu.  I've tried this last statement but nothing seems to happen when I right click in the Clips pane...seems I need to be able to change the now time setting I currently am using. Still working on it...
