certain midi files won't drag into project

I am trying to drag 4 midi files from a construction kit into my project but they will not work.  I tried some other midi files I had at the same time and they dragged in no problem.   Anyone can help with this?

What does "they will not work" mean? It's not clear to me whether you are saying the operation of dragging them into the project fails in some way or if they drag in just fine but do not play correctly in some way. --Larry

    Thanks for responding.

Yeah with all my other midi files I can drag them from the browser into the synth track in the sequencer.  These will not drag into the sequencer.  When I try it just comes up blank.  Every other midi files comes over fine from the browser.

Maybe you could try opening them via File>Open.... and see if that gives you any complaints or problems. --Larry

Thanks Larry, I tried that.  I did find a way to get the midi files into the sequencer but it was really awkward.  I ended up importing them that way and resaving them.  Now they drag in ok and work properly.

Before I resaved them they were resetting my synth each time to like when I first inserted the synth, the same preset every time.

I guess it is just the way the midi was made or something but resaving the midi and then reopening it worked thank goodness.

scroll all the way to the end of the project and see if they're being dropped later along the timeline.
if they are you will need to change your preference settings.

Thank you.  I was trying it with a totally new project with just one track.

I am just glad I got this midi to work at all since I really like it.
