Hanging midi notes with Fishman TriplePlay
Just started using the TriplePlay and love the way it works (unlike others I get no latency) however within 1 minute of using it with any softsynth in Sonar X1 I get hanging notes and have to press the panic button. I have never had this problem with any keyboards. The TriplePlay works perfectly with it's own software so my assumption is that it has something to do with using it in Sonar. Anyone have any suggestions what I can do to prevent the hanging notes?

I have the same problem with my X1 and Triple Play. Quite annoying. It usually helps when I press play and stop, but I managed to get a blue screen also. The same thing happens with my YRG-1000 midi guitar. Any fixes for this?

I haven't had any problems with stuck notes, but I haven't done any recording, I've been using X2 as a vst host. I've been using the Fishman TriplePlay driver (MIDI Device). How are you using it?

I have been using it with vst plugins. Some Sonar, mainly tts and some that are not, Kore2, Kontact, SampleTank. The Softsynth is inserted and Tripleplay is selected as the midi device. Something like a flute isn't too bad when it hangs but with strings and horns it's awful (my mouse curser stays on the panic button). When it isn't hanging notes the tripleplay really works great for me. I just downloaded something called MFX SustainFix plugin. It was something that was suggested in another post, however that post was from 2008 so I don't know if it will work. I'll repost when I try it. Hopefully it doesn't screw up my Sonar.

I've been recording some since I replied and still no problems with stuck notes. Are you working on new projects or something you already had? I've been using Rapture, Dimension Pro, Z3ta+ 2, Omnisphere, & Alchemy.

Tried it with old project first and then when the notes started to hang I created a new project to test with and got the same result. Maybe the hanging notes don't happen with X2, I am still using X1. Tried to load the MFX SustainFix plugin with no success getiing it to load on my system so I don't know if it would have worked. I followed the instructions that I found and just couldn't get it to install properly. I am still waiting for a fix from Fishman. They responded really fast to my initial request but after after a couple of emails they left me with "we will try to build up a system to duplicate your performance issues and take it from there." Still hopeing to hear from them but it has been a week since the last email and it doesn't look good. Anyway thanks for responding to my post though I really thought I would get an answer to my problem, I guess not a lot of people are using the tripleplay.

You may already know this but you might post your question on Vguitarforums.com. They have a pretty active community over their and the moderator has been testing FTP for awhile so he may be able to help. Terry

Terry, Thanks for the suggestion I will definitely try the vguitarforums. It would seem to be a logical place to get an answer. Thanks again

Just got a TP today, does it have stuck notes when ran as a stand lone plugin? There are a lot of parameters that I see when it is a stand along, touch, sensitivity, sustain, etc. But can't find it while in Sonar. On the case

Sonar & FTP Tips (So Far)... 1) Do the setup on the guitar. Use the little spacer tool provided. 2) On the App supplied, hover over the blue number in the levels window and adjust the sensitivity to the middle of the red bars for each string. 3) Make two patches, 32bit & 64bit. 4) You can use the up/down buttons to step thru patches. 5) Synth 2,3,4 are for splits (took a little while to figure that out). 6) A Piano is not a good instrument to drive, pick something else 7) remember with you play a voice, be mindful of the instrument you are playing (ie a pad has a slow attack) 8) Try the "audition" button, it changes with the patch. 9) To save a patch: Pick a vst by double clicking the box under Synth 1, pick a voice, close the synth window, click the red disk, pick a spot. 10) To pick a Synth, click and hold the mouse key. A list will pop up. Try Cakewalk Sound Center, its a quick interface to all the jamming synths sorted nicely. Peace! And "Gimme a Job!" Jaco
