I need some help setting up my BOSS BR-800 to work with SONAR properly

Hey all, I'm new to this forum but I will probably be here a lot. So I just bought SONAR X2 Essential, and I already own a BOSS BR-800 (8-track digital recorder). I'm having a couple of issues: I can't figure out how to set up the BR-800 as a Control Surface (it has that functionality though). Also when I tried to import a couple of .WAV files that had been recorded on the BR-800 and converted to WAVs into SONAR, they were quite distorted (not importing/playing back properly). Can anyone help me either figure out the settings for SONAR and the BR-800 to allow this, or advise me if I have to purchase additional things to make this work? Thanks guys *Alright so I figured out how to make it a control surface so that question is rescinded, but there's still a problem with the playback (distorted/sounds like it's skipping), so that's my main question now.

Can't help with the control surface questions, but did you use the BR Wave Converter software to convert the audio files from the BR into Wave files?  i don't think you can import BR files directly into sonar.

If its distorted, then its either a clipping issue or a sound card driver issue or a sample rate issue or all the above  or 1 of the above or 2 of the above.

So what sound card are you using?
What are your settings for that sound card in sonar?
What is your sample rate? Its go to match what your importing from the boss

I use my BR800 as my interface and soundcard.
It has a much nicer card than in almost all stock computers. I often bring in files from the BR but as said above they need to be converted first with the Wave Converter.
If they are distorted files you will see the clipped wave form and you clipped it in the BR recording.
    Otherwise it's probably in settings.

You describe it as skipping so possibly it's not distortion but might be buffer settings.
