Hire a drummer

Anyone know of a good, reputable drum programmer for hire? Preferably midi but would go for live drums. Hope this is the forum I post this in. Any information is appreciated.

For drums, I use Jamstix. It simplifies the entire "create a decent drum track" issue. It automatically creates a track based on the kit, style, and drummer personality you choose.

I stopped trying to program a believable drum track years ago.

I have some samples I'm working with now but it takes more time than I want to give the project. Like you, drumming is not something I feel qualified to do to get what I want. But, have gone this far so I may continue.

Never tried Jamstix. Have EZ Drummer but don't really like the sound of it. Read an article in Electronic Musician where the guy layered the drums from different drummers such as EZ Drummer and another such drummer. Might be something to look into.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, Guitarhacker. Will give Jamstix a look on their website.

I would love to play to your tracks if you want a live drummer triggering midi.  I would just like to know the song before I commit.

    Gotta' sample?

I have time to record live drums for rock. It can be time consuming, but if the material works, I'll give it a whack (pun intended).

PM me if you want to share the song with me.

Rimshot's your man, but I will add that even my lame attempts with a V-Drum set (recording the MIDI than using better samples) made a huge difference.  Forget ever trying to directly program fills and hoping they sound right!

Rimshot, I'm still working on the song. It's a project for my high school class reunion. Will definitely get with you as soon as I'm finished with it. Thanks very much.

    Hi,

Make sure you don't hire Ginger Baker!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
