Garritan uses the Aria player and it works fine in Sonar as do VSTi's in general.

Agreed.  I have several Garritan items and they all work great.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

absolutely fine.  cake had a gpo promotion a bit over a year ago so got a copy for 80 bucks or so and it works well.

I use GPO4 and JABB3 on a regular basis and it works perfectly. Garritan gets hammered a lot for not having the fine quality of packages that are vastly more expensive but I think they make a fine product for the musician looking for affordablity and ease of operation. BTW, I'm running X2a.

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

Same here - just installed GPO 4 the other day, and it opened & ran just fine in Sonar Producer X2a - x64.

Does anyone use the GPO with Sonar X2 Producer? If yes how does it go?
I don't know whether you own it and have problems or are just trying to decide to buy it...
I'm glad others get it to work but I have problems that make it unusable.
When I defined a preset, based on Lush strings, by typing in the preset field and hitting the "floppy" symbol, the preset was listed OK in the dropdown.
However, when I went to load the preset via the VST dropdown, it is not saved in the relevant folder, where I would expect to find it.
Also, when I play a step sequence through Aria Player, my defined preset is somehow automatically replaced by a new one called "empty slot0", which now appears in the dropdown list of presets: if I delete it, it returns at a further stage.
Also, this "empty slot0" preset drops the volume, removes the legato and adds more aggressive sound to the strings.
When I re-select my defined preset from the dropdown, the "empty slot0" preset remains or (if I deleted it) is again displayed in the field but the properties of my preset definition are audible for the sequence... until I rewind and play the sequence again, at which point all the string properties revert to the low-volume, aggressive "empty slot0" settings - all in all, a complete disaster. This is all with the latest software.
I have registered this with MakeMusic - or is it Garritan - or is it ARIA - and they sent me the latest interface but my problem reamins.

I'm a guitarist, not a scientist, recording audio/midi via SONAR Platinum.
