SI. soft synth.

Hello,
I am looking for some help. I use Sonar X1 producer and recently inserted a midi synth track into my project. The midi track plays back fine when I use my soundcard input, which is a Delta 192 sound card, but when I insert the SI soft synth, the track plays maybe two notes then there's no sound at all. When I switch it back to my Delta input, it plays fine, and when I bring the software synth up on screen and manipulate the the cello etc with my mouse, it plays fine. It will not play the midi track I insert it into, only a few notes then no sound. Thanks for your help.

Go into the midi track's event list. Make it so only the RPNs and NRPNs are visible. Then delete them. You can try to use the reset audio and midi and it may work for you. Usually, I just close Sonar and re-open it and it works.

Thanks for your reply. The problem was actually the midi notes in the track were not in the correct range of the soft synth, so it would not play them. I inserted  the the midi transpose effect into the track, and that has cured it.

I have inadvertently done this to myself in the past, as well.  Life is a giant lab experiment :)

Glad you got it working. I've had this happen as well. The bass was written and octave lower than what should be playing and did the same thing you did to fix it.
