Default to Channel 1

hey everyone,

I'm still using Sonar 8.5.3... Somehow I must have changed something, but everytime I insert a new synth from the synth rack, it no longer defaults the newly created track to Channel 1. Actually a few of my synths still do for some reason, but most of them just default to no channel being selected. So I manually have to then go in every time and open the track properties and change the channel to channel 1 for anything to happen when I start playing on my keyboard.

Any idea what I changed, where I can fix this?
