5 DAWs for 2013 reviewed in the latst Recording magazine...

1: Ableton Live 9 and Push: Mike Metlay
2: Cubase 7: Paul Vnuk Jr.
3: DP 8: Jim Combs
4: Studio One 2.5: Mike Metlay
5: Sonar X2: Allen Goodman

X2 got a VERYgood review. The reviewer made no bones about trying other DAWs from TOTL PRO to free DAWs but said he always comes back to Sonar. He stressed the point that it bogs down on XP but flies on W7 and saidthey were all impressed with the touch capabilities when using W8 but that on a laptop with a hinged smal screen it's use was not optimal. He noted that they had to figure out a few things like clicking on a PC module before you can expand it with touch. They liked the "pinch" element of touch. They highly recommended W8 with a solid 27" touchscreen set at an angle.

I like it too but am still on W7.
