X2 (trial version) and Saffire Pro 24 DSP
Okay, I'm in WIN7 SP1. Powerful enough PC, for sure. I've got an M-Audio Oxygen 49 (blue) and an AKAI MPD-18. SONAR does not see that I have ANY MIDI devices - doesn't see the Focusrite MIDI interface, doesn't see the AKAI or the Oxygen, either. It's like "this thang don't do no MIDI" - but I know it should. Yes, latest drivers (3.2) for the Saffire, latest drivers for the two devices that aren't seen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well, it's not an impressive suggestion, but have you tried closing the reopening SONAR (with all devices connected)? If that doesn't do it, disconnect your interfaces/controllers and restart SONAR. Once SONAR is fully loaded, then connect each device one at a time. It sounds like a lame solution, but sometimes it works. You just have to wait a little while until you get SONAR's pop-up acknowledging the device(s).
Kind regards, Living Room Rocker

Yes, latest drivers (3.2) for the Saffire, latest drivers for the two devices that aren't seen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Is is possible you are plugged into USB 3 ports? Some devices, both keyboards and interfaces, have issues if they are designed for USB 2, but are plugged into USB 3 ports. If you have USB 2 ports on your computer, try plugging one of the 'missing' devices into a USB 2 port and see if it then becomes detectable. Please note that you MAY have to delete and install that device's drivers again, depending on the particular device. If the above works, but you do not have anough USB 2 ports for your devices, then you can pick up a USB 2 powered hub from somewhere like Radio Shack for around $15-$20, and that would add 4 USB 2 ports to your computer. Please try the above and post back. Also, many of us post our system specs in the 'signature' portion of of forum profiles. This allows others to quickly see our particular hardware/software setups, and it makes it much easier to help each other with issues. You can look at the bottom of my post, or some of the others that have specs, to get an idea of what kinds of info to add. To add your specs, look in the center of the top of the page for a button labelled User Control. Hover your mouse over that and click on Edit Profile, then click the Signature button to add your specs. Make sure you also check the box (bottom left of that screen) to tell the forum to always add your signature to your posts. I hope the above helps. If not, seeing your specs may assist in continuing to debug your issues. Bob Bone

Make sure you turn on the Saffire BEFORE you turn on your computer. Saffire on after computer = not recognized. I have a very similar setup to you. check for USB2 vs usb3 connections. I use the saffire Firewire connection so less stress about that.

Strange that it doesn't see midi at all. Your PC's USB jacks are functional, correct? If so, you might try uninstalling X2, then reinstall using the "Run as Administrator" option.
