Problems with recording in music creator 5 and keyboard

Hi all thanks in advance
I am attempting to transfer sounds from my casio keyboard into my music creator
thus far I am able to record these sound onto a midi track but have yet been able to convert the midi track into audio
I just bought a instrument cable and I am trying to record audio  from my casio keyboard  in the instructions it says this: Once you are connected to the Line-in it’s time to switch the input on your sound card. Go to Start | Run and type in “SNDVOL32” (without the quotes) to open the Volume Control. “SNDVOL32 –R” opens the Recording Control. Check the “Line-in” option. For Vista: go to Start | Control Panel and open "Sound". Click the "Recording" tab and select “Line-in”. Click the "Set Default" button. Double-click on that button to adjust levels and other properties.  i have windows 8 and i dont have the Start Run option  and when I go to control panel I dont have the line in option I only have  1.my mic 2. the computers mic and 3. stereo mix I have been recording my keyboard through midi and switching the track to sound creator because I cant bounce the midi track but I want to keep the original sound so bought the audio cable so I can keep all the original sounds from my casio and bounce them as is . can you tell me how to record audio from my casio using windows 8 thanks.

    Mechehai,

Since you got the midi in... all you need to do is use one of the softsynths that came with MC5 to play back the sounds.

The sounds in the softsynths are probably much better than the sounds in the keyboard. This is generally the case.

Tutorial which shows you how to do it>>>  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOtzoabOaGM

It should help you. Let us know.

    Welcome to the forum.
Is the line in and mic in the same input jack in the sound card?
Have you installed the MC 5 updates since migrating to the new computer?
Under Options>Audio, is the sound card line in selected as the Recording Timing Master and is that Driver selected?
