Re:Step sequencer default note

I was told explicitly by Cakewalk that they do NOT intend for clips created with the Step Sequencer to use drum maps.
MULTIPLE issues arise when you go back and try to edit any such clip.
I have found that by deleting all rows in Step Sequencer, then setting the one remaining row to the lowest note value to be used for the clip you are going to create, then hitting the '+' sign repeatedly, you can quickly add a bunch of rows, which will all be one half step higher than the last row. The end result is a range that begins with the lowest note you started with, and as many rows you added, all in proper ascending order.
The above can be done quite quickly - a matter of seconds, and avoids all of the problems that occur if you instead tried to use a drum map. (it will LET you create a clip with a drum map for the track, but then all kinds of trouble will ensue when you try to edit).
You could bounce the step sequencer clips to a midi track, (to mitigate the editing nightmares from using the drum map), BUT I would advise against relying on any technique that Cakewalk has explicitly indicated folks should not use.
Try my above technique to get the range for a given clip set, and come to your own conclusions.
