Sonar X1 or X2?

After reading through some of the threads, I am wondering if upgrading to X2 is a good idea.  Some of these threads indicate X2 has quite a few bugs in it.  Are there users of X2 who are having good successes?

Was still a very green Sonar 8 Producer Edition user when graduating to a very green Sonar X1 Expanded user.  Now, upgraded to Sonar X3c from X2 (but never had the time to get proficient with it.)

No show stoppers for me. I did not like X1 but I like X2.

Really liked X1d, but am liking X2a even more.  The enhancements are brilliant.

There is a lot of negative feedback on here, but it is human nature to only comment when things are going wrong.  Many people are finding X2a stable, and love the developments.

Off the top of my head, some of the reasons to upgrade would be:-

    Auto track zoom

    PRV improvements

    Take Lanes

    Automation lanes

    Console Emulation

    ProChannel FX Chains

Various workflow enhancements, like right mouse clip selection

    Breverb

I'm sure there are many I have forgotten.  Some of the above points would justify the upgrade on their own IMHO.

Before you upgrade Sonar you will need to upgrade the operating system.  Windows XP is no longer supported.

Well spotted - also 2GB RAM is a bit low to run Win7 / 8.

Yep, you'll need at least 8Gb of RAM to take full advantage of Windows 7/8 + X2 + whatever else by way of sample streaming libraries you own

Although I like the features of X2a more than those of X1d, my experience is that it's way more buggy and much less stable. As long as they're taking to release X2b, I sure hope it resolves a lot of these issues.

What is it you don't like about X1d?

    Yes.

In my setup it's no less and no more buggy than X1

Thanks for the input.  I have to admit of being a little nervous after reading some of the threads.

Yes, I will be updating my operating system from Windows XP.  I also am increasing my RAM by another 8GB.  I ordered the cards yesterday.  Hopefully, when I get the new OS and the increased RAM, I will begin the X2 journey.
