This has a strong Beatles vibe. The mix needs some tweaking. I'm not get enough separation between the instruments. The bass and keys seem to be competing with the vocals. Clever lyrics. Daryl

Thanks. Remixed to create better separation between instruments.

I like the drum sound / vox / guitars, but the keys are subtracting from it rather than adding anything for me. They sound a bit jarring and clash with the other instruments a bit for me. I would go for something more subtle.

The mix is in definite need of work, but I must confess by the end of the song I did not much care any more. I just enjoyed the song instead.

Thank you. Could you give me broad strokes about what work it needs?

There is a lot of "digital" (I call it squelchy - sort of like the old CB radio noise) distortion, particularly on the vox, so I am not sure if the problem exists in the recording or the upload encoding. I have heard similar distortion when using built in effects of some mixing boards/consoles. The instrumentation and tones seem to have the potential to be OK, but the only thing that seemed about right from the mix perspective (relative to the others) was the bass. I am about to clean up a live track for a band that has similar distortion from the mixing board. I am not sure how successful I will be.

OK, well, there is a little sibilance in the vox that need to be tamed out. After that, I would try a bit of mastering polish. I think you could stand to benefit from some compression, then widen it a bit. Check Vonxengo's site. I believe they have a free VST that does a good job.
