Kontakt 5 and Torch in HS6

Hi Guys... I've just been demoing Torch Electric Guitar and very impressed. It also seems that I need the full version of Kontakt 5 to be able to use it - less impressed! Kontakt 5 needs a mortgage, so before I empty my wallet, does anyone out there use Kontakt? Any advice they might have would be very welcome. Is it greedy on PC resources for example? I'm a bit concerned that it would also require an upgrade of my PC to window 7/8, my midi i/f and firewire outboard units - which adds a lot to what started out to be a relatively low cost Torch plug-in!
