SteveStrummerUK Bristol_Jonesey chefmike8888 I love my CSR and use them on just about every project. They are my go-to verbs. Well worth the $40 IMO. Custom Shop.... It doesn't bother me. It's not like it interferes with my PC and it's stability or anything. It just sits there quietly doing nothing unless I ask it to. It doesn't run in the background or fire up at start up like Adobe crap does. It's basically like an app you would have on a smart phone. No one really cares if I like it or not. If they want an IK product that's the way you get it. Waves and NI have similar things. I even have an iLok and that doesn't bother me at all either. I never even know it's there anymore. Just my useless 2¢ worth. Mike ^^^^ This. All of it. 100% agreement That's good enough for me I just spent some of that Euros type dosh on the Reverb. I even paid me some of that Italian VAT @IK Obi - I realise the CSR I just bought is very good value at the special offer price, but it seems a bit mean to me not to allow us to use our Jam Points towards the cost of purchase. Is this the case for all offers? That's about the jist of it. You cannot use the jam points on anything that's on a "special promotinal price"..........(sigh...).....I have a lot of jam points just sitting in my account.... The jam points might be useful for all the iAppers, but for the rest of us that don't, it's no point buying software (without any updates for 2+ years) just to use the jam points at full price. (Of course, I did buy almost everything IK offered during their special deals, but that was a few years back). Interestingly, I've got the best IK pricing deals when going through Esoundz as they offered additional discounts on top of IK's promotions. Alright peeps, let's get ready for SampleTank 4!!

mike_mccue The difference is simple. The one I using with the iLok for is worth the trouble to me. The other one is something I paid $99 for and only used a little bit because it never sounded better than ok. I'd like to install my CSR license on my new DAW for the convenience of opening old projects... but only if it's convenient. I'm bemused by the idea that a company would rather devalue their product with sale pricing, to meet a perceived balance of supply/demand, than figure out how to provide a value worth paying for full price for. best regards, mike either way you're being inconvenienced, tho I understand you're saying the iLok one is worth the inconvenience to you. to me, it's the same, or maybe even less of an inconvenience to use the Custom Shop than it is to use the iLok - for me.

And for me too. An iLok-CS comparo is no comparo at all. iLok wins hands down for bothersome annoyance. CS is actually a useful and easy way to demo any new tools/amps/cabs/etc... before you can, if you so wish, "easily" buy them. Just my 2cents. YMMV.

Does anyone know how long it takes before I can download/access my CSR? It still says "In Progress" in my Account, although they've had my dosh for about three hours now

Thanks for the confirmation Mesh. I must admit I don't really understand the whole IK set up at all. Some of the Amplitube items I've bought (extra amp models & cabs etc) are listed in 'my' Custom Shop, and some of the VSTs I've bought (T-Racks, Miroslav etc) are listed in my Account on the website. And I just noticed that, in addition to my Jam Points, I also have 45 Credits in the Custom Shop. Could I have used these to go toward the purchase of the CSR? It seems to me that there's only one IK Multimedia, but two different ways to purchase and access stuff. Or am I missing something

Steve, if I'm not mistaken, I believe that the credits can only be used in the Custom Shop and Jam Points only on their website. If CSR is available in the Custom Shop (which I doubt), then you might be able to use those credits. (I'm not 100% certain about this though.......).

mike_mccue I like how this guy makes it seem simple: http://valhalladsp.wordpress.com/2011/05/16/cave-paintings-wabi-sabi-and-plugins/ LOL...he nailed exactly how I look at most everything I purchased for my DAW. "Software does not age gracefully. It works, and then it doesn’t. The life of software is nasty, brutish and short, and death comes quickly via a hard drive crash, or painfully via the bloat of a Windows registry. When it is gone, nothing useful is left behind, except for a box full of toxic metals." And the 3d movie of the cave is very cool.

Compare your points about Custom Shop/jam points/confusion to their Mobile Apps very easy to grab an I-Something App and Install it... and updates are right there.... and if you blow your phone away, the apps re-install with little problems so the future is the I APP

During your order, you will be required to login with your IK Username/Password. Once logged in, your current JamPoints will be visible, to which you can apply a maximum of 50% of the product value paid by JamPoints™.

I'm here bud, sorry I was out in Facebook land. Can you PM me your account name and ticket number IF you filled one out? It should show up if you purchased it. CSR IS inside of the Custom Shop. You should be able to restore your gear and it should show up if you have already registered it. Now that CSR is 64 bit it is in the Custom Shop and should update with the restore my gear feature. Also, iLok vs Custom Shop? Lol, I'd take the Custom Shop over iLok ANY day. I lost my iLok once. Then life got really confusing really fast. The Custom Shop is far easier and if you work from two different computers, you won't have to unplug a dongle and move it back and forth....

Low and behold...you really must be my long lost Brit brother. LOL! Glad you sorted it out man. I gotta say...not to start any controversy, but regardless of what people may think of IK, I have to confess that I am an Obi lover (in a non-gay way of course) because I've seen him help so many people that had Ik issues...including myself. I could see if we had a rep from a company just come here and spam the place and leave...but the guy actually takes part here and has always extended a hand to help people. Ok, maybe not every story has a happy ending and we may not like everything about IK....but they are blessed to have a guy like him in their corner. The dude seems to eat quite a bit of poo on here from time to time yet still hangs around. That's not to discredit anyone who has had problems with IK or Obi....I'm just saying, from my own personal experience as well as what I've seen on here...I'm happy to have him here. Thanks for all that you've done for me and others Obi. You have to take the good with the bad and just keep on trying to make a difference for the better. I'm sure you've seen me get pummeled on here by trying to be helpful or someone just takes me/you the wrong way. Dont change man...get stronger and make it push you to get even better. :) Sometimes we may be in the right...but our people skills or delivery may be a bit off that day. It's good to take a step back and re-evaluate too. This way you're ready for the next onslaught. LOL! :) -Danny

@StevestrummerUK, I'm glad you got it working finally. You can't use them in the AmpliTube Rack section, but use them all the time in Reaper after AmpliTube. Though, I will admit the new EchoFlex Tape Echo in the Custom Shop has been getting a lot of post AmpliTube time. Thanks Danny. I grew up on forums and its literally how I learned to play music, record and now how I put food on my table. I've always appreciated forums and people willing to help and answer questions. I can only do my best to return the favor to others. Good or bad, I'll always try to find the good. This is one of the few forums I actually enjoy reading. I lurk far more than I care to admit.

He he, I'm always looking in the wrong place for something or other Danny... But a bigger problem for me is that when I do actually find it, I've forgot what to do with it It's called old age sneaking up on you I shall be 51 tomorrow, and I'm celebrating by going to the docs in the morning for a fasting blood test We Brits know how to par-tayyyy!! I'm still feckin' confused though - I don't understand why some of my IK gear appears in My Account and some in the Custom Shop. Surely some kind of streamlining might help old buggers like me.

If its a part of the Custom Shop (Like CSR, T-Racks, AmpliTube Orange, Fender, Ampeg SVX...) you'll find it there. But you can also buy the entire package like Ampeg SVX and register it instead of buying it with just credits. Then it'll show up in your Custom Shop. The stuff that is in my account is mainly our older stuff or things not found in the Custom Shop.
